From now on when I am asked who the best running backs are in the Montgomery Media coverage area Bishop McDevitt's Gary Postell will be one of the names that roll of the tongue. He quietly help the Royal Lancers go 7-4 in 2009 with 1,010 yard and 10 touchdowns in his junior year. On Friday morning Postell started his season off in spectacular fashion against Lower Moreland. In a 48-2 win over the Lions, the senior tailback rushed for 271 yards on 12 carries. Five of those carries went for scores of 23, 54, 58, six, and 95 yards.

Pennridge Plus - Ferrier fits in nicely for Rams offense
RB/DB Jesse Knepp

Jesse Knepp lowered his shoulder and put his fellow defensive back Rocky Ferrier on the ground during preseason drills two weeks ago. It was Ferrier's welcome to Pennridge football moment. The senior safety/wide receiver is putting on the shoulder pads and helmets for first time this season, getting use to the physical side of the sport and enjoying every minute of it.
Ferrier had an immediate impact in the 42-0 win over Haverford to open up the Rams season. He caught two balls for 30 yards and two touchdowns to help the Rams pull away.
He played baseball and basketball for the past three years, but never thought he'd be going through two-a-days and becoming a contributor on the Rams' offense. Pennridge quarterback, Kyle Peters, who plays baseball and basketball with the 6-foot-1, 170 pound Rock, recognized he would be a nice asset to have on the opposite end of his throws and recruited his power forward and outfielder.
Peters showed his maturity right from the first snap with his decision making and accurate throws. The senior quarterback finished with four touchdown passes and no interceptions. Even though it was only one game, the Peters-to-Ferrier connection has the potential to earn both seniors all-league honors by years ends.
