High School Hoops: 1/12-1/18 Scores & Scoring Leaders

GAME OF THE WEEK: Plymouth-Whitemarsh 66, Upper Moreland 59 - Whether it is a down season for the Colonials or the Golden Bears are finally figuring it out, Friday night was one of the more closely contested games between the two schools in recent memory. The Golden Bears held a lead heading into the final quarter, but senior point guard Anthony McKie changed all of that. McKie scored 11 straight points to open the fourth and helped his team hold off the badgering Bears. Tommy Robinson scored 19 points in the loss. McKie finished with a game-high 26 points.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Zameer McDowell (Spring-Ford) - He can smell it now. With the magical 1,000 point mark approaching, the senior forward had a fantastic week for the Rams. After scoring 25 points against Pottstown he came back to floor on Friday night and recorded a double-double (17 points, 11 rebounds) in a big conference win over Pope John Paul II. McDowell, only 17 points away from becoming the seventh player in school history to score 1,000 points, will surpass the mark in the next few days, and then can start concentrating on collecting a conference title.
