This is the unofficial All Bux-Mont American Legion Team.
The selections are based solely one man's opinion, leaning on what I have seen, heard and read this summer. The Bux-Mont continued to be one of the most talented legion organizations in the state and I'm sure I left off some talented teammates who had superb summers off the list.
But without further adieu...
PLAYER OF THE YEAR - Seth Regensberg (Pottstown) - It has been a banner year for the Steelers and the hard throwing lefty has been in the middle of the magic. When not pitching, his offense has carried the team to over 20 wins. The losses have been few and far between thanks to the Hill School product.
Pitchers
Bryce Mengel (Hatfield)
Robbie Welhaf (Plumstead)
Dan O'Hara (Souderton)
Trevor Dalton (Pennridge)
Brian Maher (Nor-Gwyn)
Catchers
Jon Mullin (Doylestown) - Mullin was handed the task of working with a younger Tiger staff this summer. The squad graduated a handful of pitchers from their 2012 state championship team and Mullin's defense and leadership did not go unnoticed.
Nick Zipay (Pottstown)
First Basemen
Jake Gordon (Pennridge) - Wood bats were not going to slow down the slugging first basemen. Gordon gave baseballs a ride all summer long, driving in a ton of runs for one the highest scoring offenses in the league.
Ethan Rode (Doylestown)
Second Basemen
Blair Killough (Plumstead) - Killough mostly pitched during the high school season at Central Bucks East, but this summer he showed he can pick it in the infield and be a strong contributor at the plate. Killough was the complete package for Plumstead.
Scott Guiliano (Souderton)
Third Basemen
Ben Schweitzer (Pennridge) - Another player who used summer ball as a chance to redeem themsleves from a sub-par school year. Schweitzer was a solid as they come at the hot-corner and added extra pop to a lineup that was relying heavily on their speed and savvy base running early in the season.
Brad Bertucci (Nor-Gwyn)
Shortstops
David Yanni (Plumstead)
Outfielders
Brady West (Hatfield) - West was hot in March before it was hot and he never cooled down. He was the leading hitter on North Penn's state championship team and he carried his swagger onto the Hatfield Legion team. He roamed the outfield with an ease, frustrated pitchers on the base-paths, and became one of the best players in the area during his senior season. Misecordia has a good one in West.
Danny Shane (Pennridge)
Andrew Check (Doylestown)
Zillur Rahim (Lansdale)
Utility
John Santoianni (Souderton) - Recruited by Villanova to pitch the big lefty was the leading hitting for Bux-Mont's third place team. Santoianni played outfield, first base, and even took a few innings on the mound.
Adam Regensberg (Pottstown)
