GAME OF THE WEEK: Academy New Church 23, Pennington 20 -  The Lions led 23-12, but never got comfortable. They were ready for Pennington surge and held them off on Saturday. Charlie Coyle connected with Carnel Harley twice for scores in the win.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Marquis Barefield (Pottsgrove) Pottsgrove 52, Phoenixville 14 - It was a quick day of work for Pottsgrove Marquis Barefield, but it was still enough to grab the Player of the Week. GAME OF THE WEEK: Saint Joseph's Prep 35, LaSalle 28 - The Explorers showed no quit against the Hawks on Friday. They were trailing by three scores heading into the fourth quarter and really made the Prep fans nervous down the stretch. The Explorers were driving with a chance to tie it, but the rivalry game ended on an interception by quarterback Kyle Shurmur. But Shurmur also helped them rally back by throwing two touchdowns in the loss. READ THE GAME STORY

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jarred Jones (Spring-Ford) Spring-Ford 30, Methacton 7 - You can try to slow him
down and bruise him up, but Jarred Jones will never stop his feet from moving forward and always be back for more. The tailback took some big hits against the Warrior defense last Saturday, but hung tough and tore off 230 yards and two scores in a big-time Homecoming Game win. READ THE GAME STORY

Stats, Scores from Week 6 of High School Football

GAME OF THE WEEK: Souderton 32, Pennridge 29 - The Indians played inspired football on Friday.
Looking for their first win of the season they were not afraid to take gambles. It started with a flea flicker and ended with a 65-yard stop, Manny Nieves from A.J. Curotto both times, and go in the final seconds to hand the Rams their second loss of the season. It was the their second loss in the final seconds for back-to-back weeks.READ THE GAME STORY

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: John Fitz (Central Bucks West) Central Bucks West 42, Central Bucks East 32 - I remember talking to senior quarterback John Fitz at a preseason camp and asking him his goals for the season. The first thing that came out of his mouth was Beat East. On Friday the Patriots and running back Alex Gibson (294 yards, four touchdowns) did not make it easy, but Fitz followed through to his word. His 318 passing yards and three touchdowns kept the Bucks atop the conference standings.
