To help pass the time between now and the start of the 2013 PIAA High School Football season I am going to be giving a look at two teams a day. I will give try to call out a few impact student athletes on offense, defense, as well as pinpoint one of the storylines as they open training camp.

Check this blog all season for scores, stats, and predictions, and players of the week...

Head Coach: Tim Sorber

Last year's record: 8-4 overall (5-2 in the Suburban One National Conference)

Training Camp Question: One may not initially think it, but there are plenty of carries to go around and having two dynamite options is not going to hurt the Galloping Ghosts this season. Maybe you see the junior Tyler Schreiner line up all over the field while the senior Craig Reynolds carries the bulk of the load, but Sorber should see it as a good problem to have. If any coach knows how to get his play-makers the ball its Sorber. And if any duo has chance of being a tandem of 1,000 yard rushers, it is these too. It should be a ground and pound type of year for the Ghosts. The quarterback elected to replaced Dylan Collins will be able to ease into the leadership role with Reynolds and the running game.

Offensive Standout: Sr. Craig Reynolds (RB)
Defensive Standout: Sr. Jake Clark (DL)
Breakout: Jr. Tyler Schreiner (RB/DB)

Head Coach: Ty Klippenstein

Last year's record: 1-11 overall

Training Camp Question: It is the question every year with the Lions and that is roster size. An injury impacts Klippenstein's club more than most. Last year after winning their first game with 21 men, they roster ballooned to 30, only to see it dwindle to 16 players by year's end. Not many schools get their kids to compete as hard for four quarters no what matter the score is because the Lions are in relentless pursuit of becoming better football players and better people. No matter who or how many take the field this season they have to feel good about their offense with four-year starting quarterback Landon Elder in the fold.

Offensive Standout: Sr. Landon Elder (QB)
Defensive Standout: Jr. Shane McCurdy (DE)
Breakout: So. Zahir Murray (WR)

Check back tomorrow for Archbishop Wood and Bishop McDevitt
